Mathematics Education Professor
May 2022 | Inspired by Nicole, Mathematics Education Professor
Nicole currently works as an Associate Professor of mathematics education at a private university in the Pacific Northwest (USA). She is a lifelong lover of learning and math, dedicated to instructing and inspiring others to love math. 💗 Her position as a professor involves teaching, research, and service, with her primary research focusing on how elementary students think about negative numbers prior to their introduction to the concept in middle school. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys a multitude of hobbies including playing with her daughter, music, knitting, sewing, reading, traveling, stand up paddle boarding (SUP), and lots more! Nicole's advice to young girls interested in STEM: "Persevere. You are capable and strong. You can achieve whatever you want! It will be challenging at times, but remember: It's challenging for everyone... When you find your joy, pursue that spark." ✨
Mathematics Education Professor pairs well with Number Line, also inspired by Nicole.
