Meet the Maker

 

Hello! My name is Jessica and I am the maker behind Purls & Postulates. I am a wife and mother, a knitter, and an unabashed nerdy girl who loves all things math and science (but really just anything I don't know yet)!

I have always loved being creative, but for a long time I didn't think I could have a career that allowed me to let that creativity shine. After working with education and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs for nearly a decade, I realized that creativity expresses itself in more ways than many of us realize. If you're truly passionate about something, others will notice and, what's more, they'll want to join you to find out just what's so exciting.

My favorite time of year is when all the stores bring out the school supplies. Honestly, it's quite the challenge not to pick up a fresh box of colored pencils or a cool new binder every August! I have fond memories of many of my elementary and secondary teachers, and was one of the rare few who loved going to school. Education was very important in my house growing up, and I hope I'm instilling the same passion for school and learning in my own children that's so incredibly important to me. 

What I want to offer anyone who purchases my yarn is a high-quality product to make his or her dream project, but also a small reminder that we should never stop learning. There is always something more out there that we don't know, and how much fun is that?!

So that's what Purls & Postulates is all about: moving from the theoretical of "How can I create something that will inspire others?" to the realization of my own aspirations. Thank you for being a part of that with me.
