If you’ve ever seen images of Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks and wondered if he wrote in code, you might be partially right. What he actually did was what we might call mirror writing: he wrote from right to left. It could have been to make his work more difficult to discern at a glance, but it also might have just been because he was left-handed and didn’t want to smear ink as he wrote. 🙃
